We calculated the margin for U-bet by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

U-bet has an overall average margin of 8.93% for football and falls in the poor value category. In the first section using odds from the English Premier League, the margin is at 7.21%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, has a margin of 6.89%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 12.68%.

U-bet is one of the online betting platforms that recently started operating in Uganda. Even though they are new, they have attracted quite a number of users to their brand and that could be associated to their wide array of sports selection.

Range of Sports: As at the time of this review, there were about 19 sports available on the platform. We are talking about popular sports like football, basketball, handball, volleyball, ice hockey; and some not-so-popular ones like futsal, baseball, MMA and snooker.

A closer look showed that football and basketball are the most wagered sports on the platform given the heavy patronage on their homepage.

One of the disappointing things about this platform is the fact that there are no virtual games and live casino to wager on. This is bound to cost the platform a lot of customers whose interests align with the non-existent categories.

Furthermore, the site can be such a struggle to navigate through. The options are not well structured to ensure easy maneuverability. On the other hand, its aesthetics are quite commendable.

Range of Bets and Markets: Punters are generally influenced easily by options. They want to have as much options as possible to broaden their interest. In a bid to satisfy this innate desire, bookies make provision and offer their customers a plethora of options to pick from.

U-bet are quite slacking in this regard. For other bookies, especially for top sports like football, you can find as much as 200 betting markets to wager on. However, for U-bet on some football events the most you can find is 50 options. These are not enough and they are pretty much the basic options like "straight win", "double chance", "over 1.5" and the likes.

It is common knowledge that betting has gone past those regular options and punters are yearning newer and more interesting markets like bookings, corners, combos etc. U-bet needs to do better in this regard to help them maintain the users they have been able to amass so far.

Betting limits: The money one can put on a bet will be enough for most punters. As always though, the limits are getting smaller when it comes to betting on lower leagues.

The live betting feature is one of the recent additions to online betting that has got a lot of punters excited. What's there not to be excited about? Now, as opposed to betting on prematches alone, punters can also bet on live games.

The interesting thing about this is the fact that in doing so, you are betting from the information you've gotten while following the match.

U-bet have an efficient live betting feature, accompanied by live updates check, to enable users get acquainted with what's happening in the match before betting. They also have a feature where punters can set an alarm on a match that's yet to start, so when it starts, they will be notified to come and place their bets.

However, we were left very disappointed with the fact that they only have football available for live betting and that is a massive letdown for this category. They should be looking to work on this soon and add more sports to this category.
